چکیده

Membrane computing is a (biologically motivated) theoretical framework of distributed parallel computing. If symbol-objects are considered, then membrane systems (also called P systems) are distributed multiset processing systems. In evolutioncommunication (EC) P systems the computation is carried out with the use of noncooperative rewriting rules and with (usually the minimally cooperative) transport rules. The goal of this article is to improve the existing results on evolution-communication P systems. It is known that EC P systems with 2 membranes are universal, and so are time-free EC P systems with targets with 3 membranes. We prove that any recursively enumerable set of vectors of nonnegative integers can be generated by time-free EC P systems (without targets) with 2 membranes, thus improving both results.

Number of Protons/Bi-stable Catalysts and Membranes in P Systems. Time-Freeness

Proton pumping P systems are a variant of membrane systems with both rewriting rules and symport/antiport rules, where a set of objects called protons is distinguished, every cooperative symport or antiport rule involves a proton, but no rewriting rule does. Time-freeness property means the result of all computations does not depend on the time it takes to execute the rules. The goal of this ar...

Testing Deadlock-Freeness in Real-Time Systems: A Formal Approach

A Time Action Lock is a state of a Real-time system at which neither time can progress nor an action can occur. Time Action Locks are often seen as signs of errors in the model or inconsistencies in the specification. As a result, finding out and resolving Time Action Locks is a major task for the designers of Real-time systems. Verification is one of the methods of discovering deadlocks. Howev...

Polarizationless P Systems with Active Membranes

The subject of this paper is the continuation of the studies of P systems with active membranes without polarizations with the label-changing capacity of some rules. Rewriting and communication rules that do not change membrane labels can be applied either sequentially or in a maximally parallel way. We consider several classes of P systems and study their generative power. Particularly interes...

Influences of temporal evolution of ground motion frequency content on developed dynamic ratcheting in SDOF systems

Dynamic Ratcheting (DR) is a nonlinear dynamic phenomenon occurring in hysteretic damping systems. It means the structural plastic deformation increases asymmetrically in successive cycles under an earthquake excitation. Although it is generally recognized that DR is closely related to the frequency contents of an earthquake excitation applied to thestructure, no targeted analysis has bee...

A Hybrid Meta-heuristic Approach to Cope with State Space Explosion in Model Checking Technique for Deadlock Freeness

Model checking is an automatic technique for software verification through which all reachable states are generated from an initial state to finding errors and desirable patterns. In the model checking approach, the behavior and structure of system should be modeled. Graph transformation system is a graphical formal modeling language to specify and model the system. However, modeling of large s...
